LIP BLUSH

SAY GOODBYE TO SMUDGED LIPS.

Lip blush enhances color, defines shape, and adds fullness to your lips. The result? A natural, youthful pout that lasts for years. This is a great procedure for those who want to correct any asymmetry in their shape. The colour will appear much bolder and vibrant post-procedure. However, the lips will appear more subtle and natural-looking once healed.

FAQs

Is lip blush for me?

If you desire a more symmetrical shape, a boost in color, an illusion of fullness, or to simply wake up with already beautiful lips - then lip blush is for you.

Am I a good candidate?

Qualifications

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.

  • You cannot be pregnant or nursing.

  • You are not using any medications that cause blood thinning. We ask that you avoid any over-the-counter pain killers before the procedure, as many contribute to blood thinning (Ibuprofen, Advil, Aspirin, etc.).

  • You are not prone to keloid scarring (an enlarged, raised scar that can be pink, red, skin-coloured or darker than the surrounding skin).

  • You have not had allergies or sensitivities in the past to dyes, tints, inks, pigments, and/or topical anaesthetics.

  • You are not using any medications that can affect your ability to heal (If you are unsure, ask your doctor).

  • You are not currently undergoing chemotherapy and have not undergone chemotherapy in the past 12 months.

  • You cannot be fighting an infection, flu, or illness that may affect your ability to heal.

  • You cannot be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the procedure and within the past 24 hours prior.

  • You understand that there is always a risk of infection with such procedures.

  • You understand that adherence to the pre and post-procedure care instructions is necessary for optimal results.

  • You understand that cosmetic tattoo procedures often require more than one session for optimal results.

What can I expect?

Permanent makeup is subject to fading over time. It is not meant to replace makeup. Many clients will feel they no longer require makeup. Others will simply have a shorter makeup routine. As pigment sits underneath the surface of the skin, permanent makeup will not always appear “bold.” Traditional makeup can be applied if a bolder look is desired. The cosmetic tattoo acts as a guideline making makeup application quick and easy.

What if I have lip filler?

Lip blush can be a complementary treatment to lip fillers or a subtle alternative.

Please allow a minimum of 2-4 weeks following injectables before a cosmetic tattoo procedure.

What do I need to do before and after my appointment?

Pre-procedure note

For lip tattoos, you must consult your doctor to request an antiviral prescription before your appointment. This procedure can cause a Herpes Simplex 1 outbreak. Preventative measures should be taken to reduce the risks. We recommend asking your doctor for prescriptions to cover both the initial appointment and the touch-up appointment.

Before your appointment

  • 4 weeks prior: Injectable filler should be done at least 3-4 weeks before your lip tattoo procedure.

  • 1 week prior: Exfoliate and moisturize your lips every day for the entire week leading up to your appointment.

  • Day of procedure: Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energy drinks. Consuming caffeinated drinks can increase the bleeding and the results of your procedure.

After your appointment

  • Gently cleanse the lip area with warm water.

  • Apply a thin layer of the provided ointment. Be careful not to overdo it with the ointment.

  • Avoid any activities that cause extreme sweating.

  • No swimming pools, hot tubs, or steam rooms.

  • No UV exposure, including tanning beds.

  • No massages, facials, or skin treatments.

  • Do not apply any lip balms or makeup besides the ointment provided to you.

  • Do not use any exfoliants, retinol, active ingredients (acids) on the treated area.

  • You must not scratch, pick, or lick any of the dry skin or flakiness.

How often will I need a touch up?

A perfecting session is recommended 6 to 12 weeks following the initial session for best results. Not every client will require this 2nd session.

Lip blush can last several years before needing a touch up. You may book a touch up when you feel your cosmetic tattoo needs to be refreshed.
